SVG to PNG
SVG to PNG renders SVG vector files as transparent PNG images at 1x to 4x their own size, drawn by your browser so the files are never uploaded.

SVG output size
SVGs are redrawn at this multiple of their own width and height, so 2x or 4x gives a sharper, larger image.

SVG to PNG is what you need when a logo, icon or chart exists only as a vector file and the place it is going (a social profile, a slide, a marketplace listing, an app icon field) wants a normal image. Because an SVG has no fixed pixel size, you choose one: 1x is the size written in the file, and 2x to 4x redraw the vector larger for sharp results on high-density screens. Your browser does the drawing in this tab.
What changes and what stays
- Vector becomes pixels. The PNG is fixed at the size you chose; enlarge it later and it will blur, so pick the largest scale you will need.
- Transparency stays. Empty areas remain transparent.
- Only what is inside the file is drawn. Linked web fonts and images are not fetched, scripts do not run, and an animated SVG is captured as one frame.
When to keep the SVG
- It is going on your own website. Browsers display SVG directly, and it stays sharp at every size and zoom level.
- Someone still needs to edit it. Keep the SVG as the source; a PNG cannot be edited as shapes and paths.
- You only want to mirror it. Flip Image flips an SVG and keeps it as a vector.
Frequently asked questions
What size will the PNG be?
The SVG's own width and height times the scale you pick (1x to 4x, 2x by default). A 240 x 160 SVG becomes 480 x 320 at 2x. If the SVG only has a viewBox, its viewBox size is used as 1x, so the aspect ratio is always right.
Is the background transparent?
Yes. Anywhere the SVG draws nothing stays transparent in the PNG. If you need a solid background, SVG to JPG fills it with white.
Why does the text in my PNG use a different font?
Browsers render an SVG opened as an image in a locked-down mode that does not fetch anything from the internet. Web fonts linked by URL are skipped and a system font is used instead. Convert the text to outlines in your design tool, or embed the font in the SVG, before converting.
Some images inside my SVG are missing. Why?
For the same reason: images the SVG links to by URL or file path are not loaded. Images embedded inside the SVG as data URLs do render.
Will 4x make the PNG blurry?
No. The vector drawing is redrawn at the larger size rather than an already-rendered picture being stretched, so edges stay sharp at every scale.
