Invoice Generator makes a clean, professional PDF invoice for freelance work, a small business or a one-off sale. Fill in who it's from and who it's for, add your line items, tax and payment details, and download the PDF. Everything happens in your browser, so client names, amounts and bank details stay on your device, and your own details are remembered for next time.

How to use it

  1. Fill in your details and, if you like, add your logo. They're remembered in this browser for your next invoice.
  2. Add the client, then one line per product, service or hour.
  3. Set the tax (VAT, GST...) and any discount, and add your payment details in Notes.
  4. Check the preview and download the PDF. Start the next invoice with one click: the number moves on by one.

What an invoice usually needs

Rules differ by country (for example, VAT and GST invoices have extra required wording), so check what your tax office asks for.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free? Is there a watermark?

Yes, and no. There's no account, no limit on invoices and nothing added to the PDF: it carries only what you typed.

Are my invoice details uploaded anywhere?

No. The invoice is laid out and turned into a PDF inside your browser tab, so client names, amounts and bank details never reach a server. If you leave 'Remember my details' on, your own details, logo and next invoice number are kept in this browser's storage only, so the next invoice starts filled in.

Does it number my invoices?

Yes. After each download the next number is remembered (INV-0041 becomes INV-0042, keeping your own prefix and zero padding), and 'Start invoice ...' sets up the next one with the client and items cleared. You can type any number you like.

Can I add VAT or GST?

Yes. Name the tax (Tax, VAT, GST, Sales tax) and set the rate: it's added after any discount, and shown as its own line. Your tax ID goes under your details. For tax-specific invoice rules in your country (reverse charge notes, HSN codes, a VAT invoice's exact wording), add the wording in Notes and check with your accountant.

Which currencies can I use?

26 common ones, including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, CAD, AUD and AED, with each currency's own number style (Indian lakh grouping for rupees, no decimals for yen). Where the PDF font has no symbol for a currency, such as the rupee sign, the PDF writes the code instead: INR 1,50,000.00.

Can I write the invoice in another language?

Text in Latin, Greek and Cyrillic scripts prints as typed. Scripts the PDF font doesn't cover, such as Devanagari, Arabic or Chinese, come out as '?', and the page tells you when that happens.

How do I send it to my client?

Attach the downloaded PDF to an email or message. It's a normal PDF that opens on any device. To sign it first, use Sign PDF.
