Crop PDF

Drag and drop, or click to upload a PDF

Crop PDF trims every page down to a region you draw on a preview of the first page - no Adobe Acrobat or other software required. The preview renders with mupdf; the crop itself is applied with pdf-lib. Both run entirely inside this browser tab, and the file you upload is never sent to a server.

How to use it

  1. Drag and drop, or click to upload a PDF.
  2. Click and drag on the preview to draw the area you want to keep.
  3. Click "Crop & Download PDF" to apply that selection to every page.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No - the preview renders with mupdf and the crop is applied with pdf-lib, both entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device.

Does the crop apply to every page, or just the one I see?

Every page. The preview only shows page 1, but the same selection - as a percentage of the page - is applied to every page in the file, scaled proportionally if pages are different sizes.

Does cropping shrink the actual page, or just hide content outside the frame?

It resizes each page's own dimensions to the selection, so viewers and printers show only that area. Content outside the frame is no longer visible or printed, though it isn't scrubbed from the underlying file data.

Do I need Adobe Acrobat or any other software?

No - nothing to install and no account. Upload, drag a selection, and download.

What's the cropped file called?

Your original filename with -cropped added, like report-cropped.pdf.
