Smooth Draw
Smooth Draw is a sketchpad where strokes become smooth ink and rough circles, rectangles, triangles, arrows and stars snap to clean shapes, all computed in your browser.
Draw anything. Rough circles, boxes, arrows and stars come out clean.

Smooth Draw is a sketchpad for quick diagrams and doodles. Your lines come out as smooth, pressure-shaped ink, and when you draw a rough circle, box, triangle, arrow or star, it snaps to a clean shape the size and position you drew it. Anything else stays exactly as you drew it. It all runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Pick a color and pen size, then draw with a mouse, finger or stylus.
- Draw a shape in one go and lift: circles, ovals, rectangles, triangles, lines, arrows, stars, hexagons, clouds and hearts snap clean.
- Didn't want the snap? Press Keep my drawing or Undo once. Turn Snap shapes off to draw freely.
- Download as PNG, or SVG for a sharp, editable vector.
Tips for clean shapes
- Draw at a decent size. Very small marks (a dot, a tick) are left alone.
- Arrows can be two strokes. Draw the line, then the head within a second, touching it.
- Nearly round becomes round. An oval close to a circle snaps to a perfect circle, and a nearly square box to a square; lines within a few degrees of level snap level.
Shape snapping was trained in part on the Quick, Draw! dataset by Google, used under CC BY 4.0. Ink by perfect-freehand (MIT).
Frequently asked questions
Is my drawing uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser: the ink, the shape snapping and the export. Nothing you draw is sent to a server.
Which shapes does it recognise?
Circles and ovals, rectangles and squares, triangles, straight lines, arrows, stars, hexagons, clouds and hearts (tilted ones too). Anything else stays exactly as you drew it.
It turned my drawing into a shape I didn't want. How do I keep it as drawn?
Press 'Keep my drawing' in the note that appears, or Undo once: the first undo after a snap brings back your original strokes. To draw freely without any snapping, turn 'Snap shapes' off.
Can I draw an arrow or a star in more than one stroke?
Yes. Strokes drawn within about a second of each other, touching or overlapping, are read together, so a line followed by its arrowhead becomes one clean arrow.
Does it work with a stylus or Apple Pencil?
Yes. With a pressure-sensitive pen the ink gets thicker as you press harder; with a mouse or finger the thickness follows your speed instead.
How do I save my drawing?
Download it as a PNG image, or as an SVG, which stays sharp at any size and opens in Figma, Illustrator, Inkscape or a browser.
