Drop in a password-protected PDF, enter the password once, and download an unlocked copy - no watermark, no email gate. Decryption runs on mupdf compiled to WebAssembly, entirely inside this browser tab; the file and password are never uploaded to a server.

How to use it

  1. Drag and drop, or click to upload, your PDF.
  2. If it's password-protected, enter the password when prompted.
  3. Click "Remove Password" to decrypt it.
  4. Download the unlocked PDF - the original file and password never leave your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF or password uploaded anywhere?

No - decryption happens entirely in your browser using mupdf (a WebAssembly PDF engine). Nothing is sent to a server.

What if I don't know the PDF's password?

This tool removes protection from PDFs you already have the password for - it can't crack or guess an unknown password.

Does it work on any password-protected PDF?

It works on standard password-protected PDFs. If a file is corrupted or uses an unsupported encryption scheme, you'll see an error instead of a broken download.

Is the unlocked file watermarked or limited?

No watermark and no size/trial limit - it's a straight decrypt-and-download.
