Split PDF cuts one PDF into several - at the page numbers you choose, by the page ranges you list, straight down the middle, or into one file per page - with no Adobe Acrobat or other software required. It runs on pdf-lib entirely inside this browser tab; the file you upload is never sent to a server.
How to use it

- Pick a split mode: "Split after page" to cut and keep everything, "Page ranges" to keep only certain pages, "Every page" to burst it apart, or "In half".

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No - splitting runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. The file you upload never leaves your device.
What's the difference between the four split modes?
"Split after page" cuts the document at the points you name and keeps every page, in order, across the resulting files. "Page ranges" keeps only the ranges you list and drops the rest. "Every page" bursts the file into one PDF per page. "In half" cuts once down the middle.
How do I write page ranges?
Commas separate ranges, hyphens make a run: "1-3, 7, 12-" means pages 1 to 3, page 7, and page 12 to the end. Each range becomes its own file unless you turn on "Combine into a single file".
How do I pull a few scattered pages into one new PDF?
Use "Page ranges", list them (like "2, 5, 9"), and turn on "Combine into a single file". You'll get one PDF containing just those pages in that order.
Will my browser block the downloads?
Some browsers ask for permission the first time a page tries to save more than one file at once. Allow it, and every part downloads automatically from then on.
Does splitting reduce PDF quality?
No - pdf-lib copies the original pages directly into each new file, so there's no re-rendering or recompression.
What are the split files named?
Your original filename plus the pages each file covers, like report-pages-1-3.pdf or report-page-7.pdf. The file list above the button shows every name before you download.
