Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No - splitting runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. The file you upload never leaves your device.
How do I choose where to split?
Enter one or more page numbers to split after. On a 10-page PDF, entering 3 creates a pages 1-3 file and a pages 4-10 file. Entering 3, 7 creates three files instead.
Can I split into more than two files?
Yes - enter as many split points as you like, separated by commas.
Will my browser block the downloads?
Some browsers ask for permission the first time a page tries to save more than one file at once. Allow it, and every part downloads automatically from then on.
Does splitting reduce PDF quality?
No - pdf-lib copies the original pages directly into each new file, so there's no re-rendering or recompression.
What are the split files named?
Your original filename plus a part number and page range, like report-part-1-pages-1-3.pdf.
